On Wednesday, Dyson announced the Dyson Zone air-purifying headphones. The Dyson Zone is the company’s first entry into the wearable category, offering filtered airflow to the wearer’s nose and mouth, as well as an embedded pair of over-ear earbuds with neutral frequency response, low distortion, and noise cancellation capability. As per the company, the air-purifying headphones have high-performance filters with miniaturized air pumps and were developed after six years of intensive research.
Dyson Zone Air-Purifying Headphones Specifications
The Dyson Zone, which was just revealed, has two motors in the earcups that send two streams of cleansed air to the nose and mouth. According to the firm, it has four air-purifying modes: low, medium, high, and auto, which are suited for varying degrees of effort. As per the company, the Dyson Zone has built-in accelerometers that automatically switch between high, medium, and low purifying modes when needed.
The air-purification process of the Dyson Zone is based on electrostatic filtering and is reported to absorb 99 percent of pollutants down to 0.1 microns, which include dust, pollen, and bacteria. As per Dyson, it is also meant to filter out city pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and ozone. As per the company, the newly unveiled Dyson Zone will connect with the company’s application to measure filtration and regulate various settings.
The Dyson Zone the over-ear headphones with neodymium drivers provide a neutral sound character. Isolation, Conversation, and Transparency are the three active noise cancellation (ANC) modes available on the Dyson Zone Air-Purifying Headphones. The maximum level of ANC is Isolation, whereas the Conversational mode will magnify surrounding conversations and turn off purification when the visor is dropped. Users will be able to magnify sounds around them in Transparency mode, allowing them to be more aware of their environment.
The new air-purifying headphones have four modes of operation. The visor remains attached to the headphones in combined air purification, music playing, and ANC mode, but users can detach it for audio-only mode also.
According to Dyson, users who reside in areas where FFP2-compliant face covers are required owing to the continuing coronavirus pandemic can also use a face-covering adapter that satisfies the required filtration standards included in the box with the Dyson Zone.
Dyson Zone Air-Purifying Headphones Price and Availability
The price of the upcoming Dyson Zone Air-Purifying Headphones is yet to be revealed by the company. Dyson disclosed that the air-purifying headphones will be accessible internationally beginning in Autumn 2022, with time-varying depending on the geographical location. Apart from that, we don’t have any information regarding the availability of the new Dyson Zone Air-Purifying Headphones.
