DJI is well appreciated for its Mini series of drones that offer a exceptional flying and cinematography experience that any beginner would appreciate while being compact and lightweight at 250 grams. However, if we were to go by the recent leaks a third iteration of the beloved drone might be right around the corner and may offer some substantial upgrades over its non-Pro predecessor, including a larger battery and new obstacle avoidance sensors.

The leaked photos that were shared on Twitter by Jasper Ellens  reveal that the DJI Mini 3 Pro now comes with four sensors- two on the top to help with obstacle and collision avoidance, two downward facing one to to prevent ground collisions. This is a huge upgrade over the DJI Mini 2 which featured only two downward facing sensors.

Meanwhile, the leaks suggest that the updated three axis gimbal now supports vertical videos with a newer camera system that offers better low light performance with a maximum aperture of f/1.7 compared to the f/2.8 lens found on the DJI Mini 2.

The DJI Mini 3 Pro may offer a slightly longer flight time than it predecessors due to a 2,453mAh battery. For comparison, the DJI Mini 2 has a 2,250 mAh battery which is rated to offer a flight time of 31 minutes.

Furthermore, the DJI Mini 3 Pro will still maintain its sub-250 gram weight. This is great as this will let  users still fly it without having to worry about carrying a heavy drone or damaging someone’s property.

That said, it’s tipped that we can expect to hear more about the DJI Mini 3 Pro within the next couple of weeks with invitations for the next DJI event set to arrive anytime now.
