Thanks to Google, Beta testing a plethora of new features for Google Chrome the most popular browser on the planet keeps getting better and better with each update. This time around a user was able to discover a new download UI in the latest Chrome Canary build that hopes to streamline the overall download experience.

While Google initially started testing its revamped download manager back in December it was nowhere near complete and was more of a download indicator. However, a Reddit user by the username u/Leopeva64-2 was able to spot the new download UI in the latest build of Chrome Canary (Chrome’s Developer oriented fork).

According to a screen recording the new UI now displays individual progress bars and cancel button for each item. Meanwhile, right-clicking on an item opens up a familiar looking context menu that allows users to manage the downloaded files with ease. This is a huge and much welcomed change from Chrome’s current download UI that shows a loading circle around the downloaded file icon on the bottom download bar.

Seeing this new development we can expect the new and improved download manager to make its debut outside of Canary via an stable update pretty soon, which is great as a dedicated download Manager for Chrome has been long overdue.
