Oppo Announces ColorOS 12 Globally: Rollout Schedule, New Features, and Improvements

ColorOS 12 brings redesigned UI, Omoji, new privacy features, RAM boost, Quantum Animation Engine 2.0, and more.

Oppo has announced the new version of Android 12 based ColorOS skin globally. It packs a new set of features, softer icons, smoother animations, and a redesigned user interface. The ColorOS 12 will be released in India in November. Oppo has shared the ColorOS 12 beta global rollout plan, according to which, Find X3 Pro users will be the first to taste the Android-12 based ColorOS 12 beta.

It is claimed to bring Stock-Android features like Material You. With ColorOS 12, Oppo has refreshed the user interface and added new features like Omoji, Quantum Animation Engine 2.0, better privacy controls, and more.

ColorOS’ Omoji feature is one of the highlighting features of new ColorOS skin, which creates facial expressions. App Cloner has been added in the ColorOS 12. The latest version of ColorOS works with 67 languages. It brings translucent app icons, which is claimed to give the sharpest-ever interface design. The Always-on Display (AoD) is now more customizable than before. You can even add your Omoji on the AoD screen.

Oppo claims that the ColorOS 12 seamlessly connects the device with the PC. It provides easy sync between devices and handles drag-drop actions in seconds. The Smart Sidebar now has Screen translate feature, which can easily translate text on the Screen in up to 100 languages. ColorOS 12 brings three dark mode levels to choose the one which fits best to you. Oppo has introduced Quantum Animation Engine 3.0, which is claimed to offer smooth responsiveness with fluid scrolling.

The AI System Booster in ColorOS 12 can free up the RAM by up to 30%. There’s a new privacy dashboard that shows you which apps are using what permissions. Another notable thing is that you will see a microphone/camera/location icon at the top of the Screen if an app uses any of these.

Oppo ColorOS 11 Beta Global Rollout Schedule

Oppo promises to deliver the ColorOS 12 to its 52 devices by the end of next year. The company has also announced a rollout schedule for the global market.
