Asus launched the Asus ZenFone 8 and Asus ZenFone 8 Flip smartphones globally a few weeks ago, but the India launch was delayed due to the COVID outbreak in the country and due to this Asus fans had to wait for the India launch to use this device, but now it seems like the wait is over as the Asus ZenFone 8 series product page goes live on the Indian website suggesting an imminent launch. The smartphones are rumored to be launched with different names – Asus 8Z and Asus 8Z Flip in India as the Zen and ZenMobile trademarks are owned by a different company prohibiting Asus to use ZenFone as their product name in India.
Asus 8Z and Asus 8Z Flip Price and Availability(Rumored)
The Asus ZenFone 8 is priced at EUR 599 (approx. Rs. 53,200) for the global variant and the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip is priced at EUR 799 (approx. Rs. 71,000). The smartphones are reported to be priced in the same range for the Indian markets. As for the launch date, there isn’t any official announcement from Asus but there is a notify me button on the website suggesting an imminent launch.
ASUS ZenFone 8 Specifications
The ASUS ZenFone 8 features a 5.9-inch Full HD+ Samsung-made E4 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of up to 1100 nits. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with Adreno 660 GPU and 6/8/16 GB of RAM with 128/256GB of internal storage. As for the software it will run on Android 11 out of the box with ZenUI 8 skin on top. The smartphone is also IP68 certified which makes it resistant to water and dust and, as for security it has an in-display fingerprint sensor.
As for the cameras, it comes with a dual-camera setup with a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor with an aperture of f/1.8 being the primary sensor and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera with an aperture f/2.2 and dual PDAF (Phase Detection Auto-Focus) sensor. On the front, it has a 12-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats. As for the connectivity features the smartphone comes with dual-SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The smartphone packs a decent 4000mAh battery with support of fast charging up to 30W, and weighs 169 grams, and measures 148 x 68.5 x 8.9mm in dimensions.

The ZenFone 8 Flip features a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate a peak brightness of up to 1000 nits. Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with 6/8GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage. As for the software it will run on Android 11 out of the box with ZenUI 8 skin on top. But unlike the ZenFone 8, it lacks an IP certification.
As for the cameras, it comes with a three-camera setup with a flip-camera mechanism similar to that of the Zenfone 7 Pro consisting of a 64-megapixel primary camera, 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with optical zoom up to 3x. An in-display fingerprint sensor for security. As for the connectivity features the smartphone comes with dual-SIM support, 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.2, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The smartphone packs a huge 5,000mAh battery with support of fast charging up to 30W and weighs 230 grams, and measures 165.08 x 77.28 x 9.6mm in dimensions.
