Asus launched the ROG Magic X gaming laptop with a 120Hz screen and Nvidia RTX 3080 GPU just a few weeks ago. However, it looks like Asus doesn’t want to stop anytime soon and has revealed the second generation of its ROG Magic 16 gaming laptop in China. Here’s everything that you need to know about it:
Technical Specifications
The renewed and more powerful successor to last year’s ROG Magic 16 is powered by the the latest 12th Gen Intel i7-12700H processor paired with 6GB of RTX 3060 Mobile GPU. The base model of the Asus ROG Magic 16 offers 16GB of the latest DDR5 memory and a 512GB PCIe M.2 SSD. Meanwhile, the laptop is powered by a 90Wh battery pack that supports 100W Power Delivery.
Apart from the powerful internals the Asus ROG Magic 16 also features a pretty extraordinary 16-inch 165Hz high refresh rate display with a resolution of 2560×1600p and an aspect ratio of 16:10. Other that that, the display is also very vibrant and colourful with 100% coverage of DCI-P3 colour gamut along with support for up to 500 nits of peak brightness.
When it comes down to the thermals, the Asus ROG Magic 16 features a proprietary Glacier cooling 2.0 system that comprises of six heat pipes, dual dust proof fans, and four air outlets. Additionally, Asus has also used liquid crystal thermal paste over normal thermal paste to improve the overall heat dissipation.
Furthermore, you can setup custom fan curves, perfomance mode and control the Asus Aura RGB by using Asus’s armory crate software.
Pricing & Availablity
As for its pricing and availability the black shade of the Asus ROG Magic 16 is priced at CNY 9,999 (approx. Rs 1,18,385) and will be available only in China starting from February 11 on the Chinese retail website JD.com. However, its still unknown if and when Asus will make its new flagship gaming laptop available globally.
