Apple iPhone Users Reportedly Facing Battery Draining Issue After Updating to iOS 15.4

Apple iOS 15.4 Battery Drain issue

Earlier this week, Apple released iOS 15.4 update, allowing iPhone users to unlock their device using Face ID even while wearing a mask. A similar kind of feature was introduced in iOS 14.5, but it required an Apple Watch to unlock their phone using Face ID with the mask on.

The latest iOS update removes the need of having an Apple Watch to unlock their iPhone using Face ID while wearing a mask. It’s more useful to those users who don’t have or can’t afford an Apple Watch. The new Face ID feature only works on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series, and it’s a bit slower.

Although the latest iOS update brings several useful features, some users are not happy with it as the device’s battery is getting consumed very fast after installing the update. A Twitter user @lamaks_3 wrote, “Battery life on iOS 15.4 is really bad. After 24 hours – 80%, but active screen no more then 2 hours and I using only Safari, YouTube, Instagram, Uber.(iPhone 11 battery capacity 93%).” He’s not the only one facing this issue as many users are reporting the same.

Whenever a device gets a new software update, it undergoes a lot of changes, which happens in the background. It requires additional battery usage, and therefore, in most cases, the device gets back to normal after a couple of days. This could be the reason for the rapid battery draining issue, and Apple is not going to remain silent on the matter if the issue persists for long. Either the device will get back to normal by itself or Apple releases a fix for that issue.

The latest iOS 15.4 update is not just limited to a new unlocking feature. It also includes 39 vulnerability fixes, 100+ new emojis from Emoji 14.0, EU Digital Covid Certificate support in vaccine cards in Apple Wallet, a new American voice for Siri, improvements to podcasts app, and allows any merchant to use his iPhone to accept Apple Pay and credit/debit cards from Visa, American Express, Mastercard, and Discover.
